Race records is thrilled to introduce you to Robert E.Denton. He was first discovered as a boy of
eleven by renowned choir master, Roy Vickers. After hearing him sing for the first time, Roy offered him a full
scholarship to the Royal Conservatory of Music and a position in his choir. However, the lure of Rock & Roll
was so great, Robert quit and asked for a guitar for Christmas, instead.
He started his first band, which won numerous contests and led them to gigs at the YMCA, high school and Scout
House dances. After spending his early adulthood traveling and living in Europe, he returned home to Canada,
settling in Vancouver. He began playing and writing again and formed his critically acclaimed group, the
Robert E. Denton Band. It wasn't long before he started his solo career on open stages and in song writers'
circles, which included The Largest Laundromat in North America on Broadway West, Vancouver. The unique
ambience of these performances eventually made it a 'must play' stage for all song writers on the west coast.
It was during these years that he began writing his book, The Key to Enlightened Dreaming. It's success
drew record numbers of attendees to his Dream Workshops at western Indigo / Chapters locations. The impact
of this book took him across Canada on a whirlwind book signing tour.
Having come full circle, he now finds himself living back in Hamilton, Canada. where he has just finished recording
his debut CD, From a Victim Consciousness.
